POLITICAL ENDORSEMENTS

While we would like to see to you at every FOP membership meeting, we particularly would like to see you at our August and September meetings.  Many of you know that FOP Lodge #09 conducts endorsement processes for political races such as Mayor and City Council for Charlotte during each election cycle.  This year we are changing the way our endorsement process works to give the membership more opportunity to participate.

We have invited and received confirmation from candidates running for District Attorney and Sheriff of Mecklenburg County.  They will attend our meeting and make presentations to the membership and answer any questions they may have. 

On Tuesday, August 3 George Laughrun will attend to address our membership on behalf of Andrew Murray, Candidate for District Attorney.  You may know, Andrew had accepted our invitation and was planning to attend when his military service was moved up and he is currently serving with the Coast Guard in the Gulf. 

On Tuesday, September 7th we will have Michael Barnes, Candidate for District Attorney along with both candidates for Mecklenburg County Sheriff; Chipp Bailey and Christopher Hailey join us for a short presentation, questions and answers from the membership

After the presentations from the candidates they will be excused and we’ll have a discussion on whom to endorse.  

Hopefully, at the end of the discussion we will be able to vote for the candidate that will best represent Mecklenburg County in the District Attorney’s race and the Sheriff’s race.
