CHARLOTTE-MECKLENBURG
FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE
LODGE #9

At the heart of our Lodge is our greatest strength - our members. As a ground-up organization, the direction of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Fraternal Order of Police is shaped by the voices of those who serve. Our membership reflects the wide spectrum of law enforcement, including police officers, deputy sheriffs, detention officers, state troopers, state & federal law enforcement, administrative support personnel, and passionate supporters of law enforcement.
Though the uniforms we wear may differ, our shared commitment is the same: to serve and protect our communities.

OUR HISTORY. OUR PURPOSE.
Over a Century of Standing Together
In 1915, police officers often worked 12-hour shifts, 365 days a year, with little opportunity to improve their working conditions. Two Pittsburgh patrol officers, Martin Toole and Delbert Nagle, believed that officers deserved a voice.
On May 14, 1915, they joined 21 fellow officers to establish Fort Pitt Lodge #1, marking the beginning of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Their mission was simple: Police officers representing police officers.
Through unity, advocacy, and a shared commitment to the profession, the FOP grew from 23 founding members into one of the nation's largest law enforcement organizations.
Membership and lodge figures are based on the supplied website content and should be verified before publication.
More than 110 years later, that mission continues. The FOP remains committed to protecting the rights, improving the working conditions, and supporting the well-being of the men and women who serve our communities.
