On Monday, April 29, 2024, law enforcement officers on the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task force were attempting to serve felony warrants on a male subject wanted for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.  As officers approached the home on Galway Drive in Charlotte, NC, the male they were there to servce warrants on began firing a rifle from within the home striking officers.  The attack prompted hundreds of law enforcement officers to respond and after a shootout with police, the suspect was killed.  In the wake of this incident, four men lost their lives.

Each of the men above were killed doing a job they loved, leaving families behind to pick up the pieces.  Our Foundation immediately began raising money to help each of their families and helping five additional officers that were wounded during this tragedy.

This incident marked the deadliest single attack on law enforcement officers in the history of the City of Charlotte and is one of the deadliest attacks toward law enfocement across the United States.  As we still grieve from our loss to this day, an outpouring of support from the community proved just how much our law enforcement men and women are both supported and loved.

Our Foundation continues to collect donations for the families.  If you would like to donate, you may do so by clicking the link below.  Our Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) and your donation may be tax deductible.

In the aftermath of this shooting, NASCAR's Rick Ware Racing team dedicated their #51 Ford Mustang in honor of the four fallen heroes.  The car displayed the names of all four heroes.  Piloted by NASCAR Cup Series Driver Justin Haley, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg FOP themed car ran at Darlington Raceway for the Goodyear 400.  Justin Haley finished an impressive 9th place.

Not to be outdone, Rick Ware Racing has again decided to run this car again at Darlington during the Cook Out Southern 500 on September 1st.

The QR code on the side of the car promotes our Foundation and gives race fans an opportunity to donate to fallen officer's families.
